Web Server / FrontPage Users

Students using FrontPage, can edit directly on the WWW3 Student Web Server or publish local webs directly to the WWW3 student web server using the FrontPage 'Publish' feature. When editing or publishing, the server will request network authentication.

Network authentication dialogs with FrontPage
will appear like...

The authentication dialog box requires a user name and password.  Your user name and password is based on your JJC account and the user name must be prefixed with 'JOLIET\'  (example: JOLIET\user name )

It is recommended to leave unchecked or uncheck the "Remember my password" when using the lab computers.

Your web site has an initial blank default file (default.htm) in the root of your web site:
http://www3.jjc.edu/(semester)/(user name)
. Which will allow access to the root via the Internet Explorer browser on computers with FrontPage installed. With Internet Explorer, the 'Edit with FrontPage' will allow you to open web pages and edit web pages directly on the web server.

Look it up my JJC account information. (user name &  password ) here.

Your web site pages will have  the URL address form: http://www3.jjc.edu/(semester)/(user name)/(path and or file name)  where the (file name) is the filename of the HTML document you are trying to access. If the (file name) is omitted the Web server will try to serve a file called "default.htm"
