JJC Website Competition Entry - Daniel Ristic |
|---|
Dear Judges, Hello, my name is Daniel Ristic. This is an introduction about my entry for the website competition, to tell you a little bit about the behind the scenes work and what technology was used to create the site. Everything that was developed during this project is 100% original. No prewritten code or templates were used to compile the website. This website was entirely hand coded using XML, DHTML, and Flash Action Script. The website is flash-based utilizing XML files to load all of the content for each page dynamically. The framework of this website was written to allow all of the content to be updated easily with a simple notepade or wordpad text editor. XML files are associated with each content page of the site. Each of those pages are loaded dynamically when the sites visitors choose different pages from the menu or in the gallery. The XML files are loaded into the flash and parsed into HTML, which allows the site to be easily changed and worked on by multiple people making it easier for the site to be kept up-to-date. If there was PHP and MySQL support on the server, it would have been easy to write file handling scripts and create an administration system behind the site, converting the entire website into a Content Management System(CMS). The entire site and its content is fictional, and was mocked up for the purpose of this competition. I hope you enjoy it! -Daniel Ristic, Owner of www.sharpperspective.net |
