The Yardies are a 6 piece reggae/rock band based out of northern Illinois.
They play an eclectic mix of original and cover songs. Their fusion of beautiful vocals and harmonies, wailing horn lines, and chilled out reggae grooves create an infectious style that is perfect to dance, relax, and rock out to.
The instrumentation consists of rhythm guitar, lead guitar, bass, drums, auxiliary percussion, trumpet, tenor sax, and vocals.
They have been infecting and astounding the northern Illinois rock scene with their big, original sound since spring of ’06.
Their influences include Bob Marley, the Beatles, 311, Sublime, as well as a myriad of other musicians and genres. In a world over run by pop-punk and screamo bands, the Yardies are a breath of fresh air, playing a sweet reggae style that is enjoyed by people of all ages.
Oh and yes....they're white boys. (except for Raj!)
