Course Prerequisites:     None.

 

Course (catalog) description:

            This course introduces the features and capabilities of the Internet.  While learning how to access the Internet, the students will also learn the underlying concept and strategies involved.  Various Internet tools are discussed along with the types of information and communications students can retrieve using these tools.

 

Required Textbook:

            Internet Navigation and Exploration, by Marold and Larsen, 2002 Edition, Paradigm Publishing Inc. ISBN is 0-7638-1312-5

 

 

Course Objectives:

1.         The student will develop an understanding of what the Internet is.

 

2.         The student will understand the safety while using Internet.

 

3.         The student will gain experience with basic internet client tools.

 

4.         The student will expand the skills in discovery and accessing world-wide information sources.

 

5.         The student will create a web page using HTML document.

 

Make-Up Policy:  If you must miss an examination, you should discuss it with your instructor prior to the absence and arrange for a make-up examination. 


Withdrawal/Drop Policy:       It is the student's responsibility to obtain the necessary withdrawal forms if he decides not to complete the course.  The instructor will recommend withdrawal for those students not in regular participations before midterm and may recommend withdrawal of a student at any point in the semester for poor academic performance or for cheating.
